Creating Campaigns
Detailed guide to creating and configuring content campaigns
This guide walks you through every step of creating a campaign, from initial setup to launching your first batch of articles.
Make sure you have:
- A SlopAds account with available article credits
- A CMS connection set up (WordPress, Webflow, etc.) - or plan to use draft mode
- A list of target keywords or topics (at least 5-10 to start)
- An idea of what content type you want to generate
Creating Your Campaign
Navigate to Campaigns
From the SlopAds dashboard, click Campaigns in the left sidebar, then click the Create New Campaign button.
Name Your Campaign
Choose a descriptive name that helps you identify the campaign's purpose.
Naming best practices:
- ✓ "Project Management Tools Reviews Q1 2026"
- ✓ "SEO How-To Guides - Pillar Cluster"
- ✓ "E-commerce Product Comparisons"
- ✗ "Test Campaign" (too vague)
- ✗ "Campaign 1" (not descriptive)
Select Content Type
Choose which content format all articles in this campaign will use:
Listicle
"Top 10", "Best of", Rankings
How-To
Step-by-step guides, tutorials
Comparison
"X vs Y", Feature comparisons
Review
Product/service reviews
Guide
Comprehensive pillar content
+ 4 More
FAQ, Glossary, News, Opinion
Choose Execution Mode
Select the quality vs. speed tradeoff that best fits your needs:
QUALITY
Recommended for first campaignMaximum quality with manual review checkpoint. Takes 120-180 seconds per article.
Best for: Learning output quality, high-value content, brand-sensitive topics
HYBRID
Balanced approach with optional review. Takes 90-120 seconds per article.
Best for: Ongoing content production, mix of automated and reviewed
SLOP / YOLO
Fast generation with minimal or no review. Takes 30-90 seconds per article.
Best for: High volume, established trust in output quality
AUTO-YOLO
Fully autonomous scheduled publishing. Set X articles per day on autopilot.
Best for: Hands-off content calendars, maximum automation
Select CMS Connection
Choose where to publish articles:
- WordPress: Direct publishing via REST API
- Webflow: Publish to CMS collections
- Shopify: Publish to blog posts
- Ghost: Publish to Ghost sites
- Draft Only: Generate without publishing (review in dashboard)
If you haven't connected a CMS yet, select "Draft Only" to test content generation. Set up a CMS connection before your next campaign.
Configure Publishing Settings
Customize how articles are published:
Author
Select which author to attribute articles to in your CMS
Categories & Tags
Auto-assign categories or tags to published articles
Publishing Schedule
Publish immediately, schedule for later, or save as draft
Featured Images
Auto-generate AI images, use placeholders, or skip images
Add Writing Style (Optional)
Customize the tone, formality, and voice for this campaign. You can use a pre-built style or create a custom one.
Style dimensions you can control:
- • Tone: Professional, casual, technical, marketing, educational
- • Formality: Formal, neutral, informal
- • Complexity: Simple, moderate, advanced
- • Perspective: First person, second person, third person
Save Campaign
Click Create Campaign to save your settings. You'll be taken to the keyword management screen where you can add your target keywords.
After Creating Your Campaign
Next Steps:
- Add keywords - Import your target keywords (one-by-one or bulk CSV)
- Review settings - Double-check your configuration before launching
- Start campaign - Click "Start Campaign" to begin generating articles
- Monitor progress - Watch articles move through the 8-stage pipeline
- Review & publish - Review content (if needed) and publish to your CMS
